The car just up and dies, mostly when it is idling (around 1,000 RPM). But it does run and drive okay, and does not cut out at high RPMs. The 'CHECK ENGINE' light does NOT come on, but I can scan it with my Auto Xray and it comes up with just 1 code- "36 Response time too long". My Haynes says this is a DI (ignition) fault.
I have a '92 6 speed (radical 383 LT4) converted to '95 Opti with MSD 6A and full size canister coil (TPIS). Opti was used, looked good, believed to be off of a 30k-ish miles stock motor, and has only been matched with my MSD for only a few hundred miles.
Give it to me, doc! Do I have Opticrappedoutschlerosis?
