Hi. I did a search on the subject but no one seems to have the same problem. Wipers think "Park" is 3/4 of the way open. Turn them on and the drivers side falls way off the windshield and I have to lift it to get it back on the windshield. Also they have been working only when they want to. They will stop after working fine, usually in the wide open position, and not work again for a while. Sometimes ten minutes or less and they start to work again. Sometimes longer. Drivers side always goes a little closer to the edge than passenger side too.
Even though they are open, can I still adjust them? Does the motor think they are all the way down? Or if I adjust them will I make it worse as the motor will not know where the blades are? I think I can figure out how to adjust them and might just go for it. Thanks for the help!
The next time that they don`t work ,or stop working ,stop the car open the hood and wiggle the wires at the plug that goes into the wiper motor. If they start working again then you`llprobably need the part of the wiper motor that the plug goes into.I`ve had a similar problem on several Chevy trucks that I`ve owned. If that is the problem, then it`s an easy repair.Hope this helps.
Well I don't have exactly the same symptons you do, but mine do work "intermittantly"...........and at this point I am pretty sure my problem is a bad/poor/intermittant ground connection.......I have determined this with an ohmeter reading
So get an electrical diagram and check grounds.......the ground I have a problem with is on the drivers side bell housing....which is the wiper circuit ground......
BTW RainX works pretty good if you are moving........
