Maybe special order. The non-smog version, 2151 is not coated. The 2151-1 is the same as the 2151 plus the ceramic coating. Hooker doesn't catalog an uncoated, C4, smog header, but they must wholesale them to other coating companies, such as Jet Hot, etc.

RACE ON!!!

Not in the 2149s I don't think there is. That said, I wouldn't dare go with uncoated LTs in a C4. Things are soo tight in there. I have burned wires with coated tubes. And header wrap is just asking for a fire. Just my .02 cents, but if you can't afford coated, save up a little longer.

(I bought used with a fresh re-coat)

Not in the 2149, unless you special order it.

You're going to need the coating one way or the other eventually anyway.

My 2149's from Summit are nicely coated for $549

Looks like they're $529.88 now. Here's a link.

Good question. Why would you want un-coated headers? Looking for more heat?

Who ever told you that un-coated headers was the way to go is wronggggggg. Get the ceramic coated headers from Summitt. I've had mine on my 91 Coupe over a year, and they work fine. You don't have to send they out to be coated, buying them coated from the factory. 2149, plus the the Y pipe. LOL.

He never indicated that uncoated was the way to go. He wants to install them first and THEN have them coated. By itself, that is not a bad idea, if one doesn't mind the extra work. Then, considering that Hooker only coats the outside of their headers, having them coated by someone else is a doubly good idea. I will refrain from my customary tube size comments.

RACE ON!!!

Oh oh, ok, well in this case. Call up Jet Hot and see what they have to say.

They might sell the 2149s with their coating, infact I think they do.

Also try HPC, hi-performance coatings. They did my headers, for less then Jet Hot, and they look great. They might also be able to sell you some 2149s with inside and out coating.

Also, its totally cool if you run uncoated, its your choice. I just have seen what its like with coated headers in my 86 and that scares the crap out of me. (And started a flash fire when oil drip on the collector....so....imagine if they weren't coated)

Hi,

on www.holley.com, I've found this:
Ceramic coated headers require several heat cycles to fully cure before they will withstand extreme heat.
What exactly have I to do, when I install new coated headers and drive for the first time with them?

2149 ceramic coated is what I recommend. I've had them on my car, and I've had my car upwards of 140 mph, never had a problem. But, it's your money, go for it.
