84 Headlights...upgrade to 88 Module...need wiring help!
Hi all,
I know some of you have done this, so wanted to know if you know what I need to do to connect the 88 style Headlight control box (driver fender) up in place of the 84 style headlight relays. My 84 relays are bad...and I have an 88 module here...want to get it fixed tonight...

It's not just as simple as wiring the module in, in place of the relays. The motors have to be taken apart and some internal wire swapping/soldering done. I made this mod on my '85 because the limit switches in both motors were shot and this was cheaper than rebuilt motors. I found the instructions in an old post here. After a bit of grief they worked. If I had it to do over, I'd bite the bullet and buy rebuilt motors. If all you need are the relays, I don't believe they're too expensive and all you have to do is plug 'em in.
