Sure! Edit it and change the question AFTER it is answered as initially asked! For the recored, the question that was there when I posted the answer was, "IM looking for the fan switch on a 91 L98?". The last sentence wasn't there, at all. I should have quoted it so it couldn't have been altered without acknowledging the change. That's kind of dirty pool to sneak in and revise the question, after it is answered, without saying anything, and leaving previously valid answer(s) hanging, behind a question that it no longer applies to.

In answer to the NEW question, as quoted, the fans on your '91 are both controlled by the ECM. The ECM uses the engine coolant temp sensor for the input as to the engine temp. To change your fan on/off temps will require reprogramming your prom, a new separate fan actuation system, or manual fan switch(es) that you may locate, "Where ever you decide to install it" (them).

What is a "hypertech# 4028"? What fan switch? Go ahead and change it...if you want.

I believe it will depend on if you have the dual fan option or not. Check out this link. http://www.zip-products.com/Zip/prod...7746622135FBCE
Also, I believe the rpo option sheet is located on the console lid or the storage compartment lid in the rear hatch area.

Yes, you can change it. There is a bung in the left head to thread in a switch. You then connect the ground (ECM) side of the relay(s) to this switch which is going to close at whatever temp is programmed into it and turn on the fan(s). It isn't going to hurt the ECM, you don't need to reflash it, and offhand, the only downside is the extra draw on the alternator (since the fan(s) will be running longer) and if your cooling system isn't up to snuff now, turning the fans on sooner isn't going to make it any better. You can get the switch at NAPA or most of the aftermarket Vette vendors carry them. Too me, it's a waste of money as the stock set up, when clean and working, works just fine.

That isn't so much CHANGING IT as it is adding "a a new separate fan actuation system", as I mentioned in my second post... The first, after the question was revised. After all, in order to change something, there has to be something there, to BE changed.

Well, 2 out of 3 of us understood what the intent of your question was without you.
