See the post under "will this cable work" or do a search in this forum for cable. This has been answered many times. I just don't have the links at my fingertips right now.

15 pin interface??? I hope you mean "9 pin"!! The serial port on your laptop is 9 pins; the external video connection is 15.
Check out akmcables.com for an OBD1 cable. That's where I got mine.
Well, I recounted the holes, and there are 15 of them. I looked, and looked for another female interface receptacle, but could not find any. I have three (3) USB, one (1) telephone, and one (1) broadband connection slot. By the way, that OBDI from Amazon didn't fit the EZ-Scan either. I'll check out the website listed above for a cable. Thanks, guy's appreciate your help.

That's video, as mentioned above. Apparently you don't have an RS232 port. You will need a RS232 PCMCIA card or a USB->RS232 converter.
Most of the latter are problematic, so you will want to get a recommendation from somebody for a card they have had success with.
Better yet, buy an old laptop for $50 that has a real serial port. I keep old laptops around specifically for this sort of thing. My tuning laptop is used for tuning and nothing else.

using USB cables to hook to the ALDL.
I have a quality cable from a respected vendor and I can attest that
it is less than a reliable method of connecting for scans.
Fortunately, I have a serial port and I will build or buy a cable rather
than continue to tolerate the USB nonsense. Others have purchased
2nd hand laptops that had the serial port expressly so they could tune.
