Early headers on LT1?

Early headers on LT1?
What is the difference between the pre-'92 headers and LT1 long tube headers? Will the early headers fit on a LT1? Seem to be more choices (read cheaper) for early long tube headers - what gives?

Everything bolts to the heads fine, they just have different clearance issues to deal with. Lots of LT1 guys put the L98 headers on.
Just bank on some customizing to get everything to fit together.
