on the Blizzak's vs the Dunlops, i've found that the both are very competent in snow, but the Blizzaks have a much softer compound and do better on ice. the flip side is that they wear quicker on regular pavement. i'm on my third winter with the Dunlops, and i can see it will survive even a fourth winter. (4000 mi/winter)

I ran my 96-LT4 in the snow a few times. with Kumho 712's. The tires were brand new, and in conjunction with the traction control, ASR......... that is what probably made it work. I drove through 4-6" of snow. and I'm sure the posi helped too. But mostly the ASR made the car move.

Would I want to do it again.... NO!! But I didn't get stuck. And this Kumho is a summer rated performance tire.

If you get a snow rated tire, it would make the C4 usable in the snow.

But my choice in the snow,,.... is my GMC AWD Safari van.

I don't know about Blizzaks on a Corvette but I am going into my 4th season with them on my Taurus and they are wearing extremely well and handle the snow great.

I live in SE NY and find the GY Eagle Ultra HP Plus have excellent snow traction as well as great wet & dry traction too.

I've found that snow traction holds very well till tread depth drops somewhat below 1/2. My son in NE OH has a snow covered drive with a 30+deg incline and, last Xmas the new GYs took my '88 right up while his wife's Beemer was still at the bottom of the slope.

My birthday present to my bro last year was a set of 4 Kumho ASX mounted on his '87 with ZR1 rims. During a snow day, we both left work for home around the same time (we work in same firm), his ride made it home from work while me and my 3/4 tread-life-left Kumho 712 were stuck on the side.
