Just call me stupid! I've jacked my '87 Coupe hundreds of times...Don't know what I was thinkin'. I placed the floor jack on the passenger side
near the back seat bolt and bent the floor pan. My question is what is the floor pan made out of and can I bend it back by heating it or pounding it back. Can anyone give me an idea of what to do to fix it. The seat is tilting towards the center console.
Thanks!
Ahh, fiberglass repair! Green70, heat the area with a blow drier to about 120 degrees F, then GENTLY, with a flat board, push down until it's approximately in the correct position. Then trim the area of any damaged fibers and resin. Proceed to repair it with WOVEN fiberglass mat and resin on both sides. Take your time and remember to overlap to the undamaged areas. Allow to dry 24 hours, then lightly sand the area by hand and cover with a black primer after cleaning. Good luck!
The front part of the floor pan is fiberglass, if you broke the fiberglass, put the car up as high as you can get it, remove the metal rock shields, repair the fiberglass and reinstall the metal rock shields.
The rear part of the floor pan is sheet metal (under the seat) remove the seat and using a 2x4 and a BFH you can beat the metal back into place.
How do I know this, I had holes in the fiberglass part large enough to fit a softball, the metal was dented so bad the seat would had cut the carpet and was hitting the floor when the seat was moved.

I sense a story.
Lent car to a buddy?
Grad night hi-jinks?
Theft recovery?
Run off the road by another vehicle?
DWI?
Or was this a case of misplaced hoist pads?
