Woo Hoo! Congrats on your first Vette, and man what a way to start - an LT4 black/red w/ the chrome Z wheels. Wow! Ya done good, and what a thrill driving that critter will be!
As for the Cobra, you are in a different class - the Vette is soooo much more than just a quarter mile tire-burner. You'll see, if you haven't already!
And, as an added benefit, you are now part of a "club". Don't forget to wave when meeting a "club member" going the other way!
on a stock motor Exhaust is questionable- your getting mostly sound not power,
PLUS if you leave exhaust stock youll have a total sleeper - itl be "just another stock c4" to everybody
HANDS DOWN in ease and performance
best bang for buck is GEARs- 3.73 or 4.10s should run $350 plus labor of $300-400,
410s will kill gas mileage a bit though
my first mod was a B&M when i replaced the clutch- im not driving a truck anymore!
THE MAIN THING THAT WILL CUT DOWN YOUR TIMES IS
EXPERIENCE- autocross & Dstrip - the more you practice the better you get!!!!!
Congrats again youll LOVE IT just try to keep it B/w lines
nice ride I really like the torch red int. with a black ext in the later years, don't know why it wasnt more popular, it really has that cool "Dracula" look to it As far as the Cobra, here are some numbers for ya

except that the Hurst shifter is a much better unit, but let me tell you right now, a better shifter won't help you at all, your fancy footwork on the clutch pedal will.
Practice launching at the track and you will be rewarded with 1.8 60' times and a high 12. Keep your engine temps in the 160-170 range when you race him. Not that difficult to do, as you procedd through the staging lanes, don't run the car. Just start it, let the clutch out enough to roll the car, shut it off and coast as far as you can.
When you are on the starting line, your oil and coolant should be in the 160-170 range and you will manage a pretty good time assuming you get a good launch.
I have a few questions about the top on my car. It has some cracks in it, and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so where is the best place to get a new top? I would prefer one that wont crack anymore. I have heard that all of the C4s are bad about the tops cracking. I only have the glass top or plastic, lexan, whatever it is made of. I dont have the fiberglass top.
Also just noticed yesterday my windshield is cracked too. Man! I havent even had this car a week I can see where something hit it. I dont know if it was already there and just now spread or what. I dont remember hearing anything hit the window. It is way down almost under the hood. Its just frustrating! I told my wife that we should put the cover on it in the garage and forget we have it, then get it out in about 30 years.
Nice car... just watch out for those Rustang drivers i would say 90% of them cant drive period thats why they usually end up decorating telephone poles and trees... What i am really trying to say is play it safe race him on a track or on an abandoned road.
BTW you already won your driving "Americas Sports Car" not Fords "Pony Car" Mustangs are for little boys Vettes are for men
