Also don't buy a ZR1 tranny, it has a longer input shaft.
I'm still trying to get a hold of the Mcleod tech support, but the line is either busy or no one picks up. I'm guessing that I'll be able to get a different flywheel that should help get some more space in there. Hopefully they will have some more insight.
That's a very cool CAD drawing. So what you are saying is that if I use the zf pull clutch it should work ok. I don't have any of the parts yet. I'm planning on buying the tranny later this week, so I can't really double check dimentions. Oh, and I got your PM, yeah I think you're right on that one.
Sleazy Rider,
I'm glad to hear someone else has done this already. I knew someone out here had to have. Just out of couriosity, would you mind spilling how much that setup put you back?
seeing as how i bought it a long time ago, if i remember right, it was somewhere aroud the 1k mark for the complete setup. and it did fit inside the zf bellhousing. but being a single mass flywheel, it was noisy, sounded like a bunch of rocks in the trans. also was fairly heavy, twin disk, ran with 4.09 gears and a few other tweaks and mostly raced with it, but still civilized on the street. the to bearing bolted straight to the trans, replacing the stock collar.
I just got off the phone with McLeod and they said that it wouldn't be a problem at all and they gave me a part number 64033-00007. This included a Master cylender, but he didn't mention anything about a throwout bearing.
