Default RPO Codes

Well I looked last night when I got home and couldnt find anything. There was nothing in the compartment behind the passenger seat, just a jack and the radio. It must be in the frame rails. That sucks, every other GM car that I have owned has that sticker in the glove box with all the codes on it.

What is up with the compartment behind the drivers seat, mine is bolted shut. You can see where there should be a handle like the other side. I have seen pics where it looks like the older models have a working compartment there. Did they just stop doing it in the later years?

Sorry 96 LT4

check the center console. That's where it belongs.

The bolted cover is for the ABS/EBCM.

The RPO code sticker should be on the bottom side of the lid behind the passenger seat. Sticker on bottom of the lid, not in the actual compartment itself. If there is no sticker there, then the lid was probably replaced in the past sometime.

The other compartment behind drivers seat that is bolted shut, can be opened. Just take out the bolt, open the lid, and you will see the abs controller in there.

If the lid had been replaced by a previous owner, you can get a copy of the buiild sheet from NCM. There is a fee but all you have to do is supply them with your VIN.

Unlike earlier years, there weren't too many options available on the C4, and if your avitar is correct you have the most desirable option that ws offered in 1996.

I looked again this morning and I can see where the sticker was by the sticky stuff still on the plastic. Why would anyone take that off, kinda fishy. Does anyone know if I can use the VIN to order a new sticker that I can put back in the car.

there is a build sheet on the gas tank... or, you can order a build sheet from the National Corvette Museum. All you need is the VIN and $40.00.
