Default Throttle body rebuilding service?

My TB leaks pretty good (bad) and the shaft has some play so the throttle hangs with the butterflies binding barely open. I cleaned out the TB and after removing the crud from the bores, it leaks even more.

Who redoes these with ball bearings, and do you have any personal experience with them.... cost... turnaround time, etc?

Or is it worth the bother over buying a new TB and having no downtime?

Do a search for "David Koldos". He did mine and many other Forum members throttle bodies. He replaces the bushings with roller bearings. The Ebay guy just installs a resized bushing. You really want the roller bearing....will last much longer. His price converting to 52mm and installing the bearings was in the low/mid $200 range. He also will just install roller bearings on a stock 48mm throttle body but I don't know about the price. His email address is: dkoldos@ameritech.net

Had mine done by Dave. Super job. Eliminated the binding and sticking problems from worn guides. Cheaper than new TB and you get bearings that will last. Also helped me get my idle adjusted and stable.

Had David rebuild / rebore my 48mm up to a 52mm - very happy with the results and his service. Good guy to deal with - and quality work. You can't go wrong (and his price was appropriate).
