Best Mini Starter
Any opinions on a mini starter for a L98 with stock compression for LT header install? Powermaster, CSI, TCI, Tilton, GM Performance, other?

I had a mini strater on my 89 coupe with a 383 gave me to many problems so I put an OEM 89 starter on have had no problems since

Is the stock 89 smaller than a 86?

Yes, it's a cute little Nippondenso gear reduction type, a mini starter. Easy to R+R but if the contacts in the solenoid wear out, the solenoid is not available separately. Mine did have 93k on it when it became senile though so it seems to be a solid unit.

Get the later 88-91 starter, its a ministarter and actually weighs half as much as the 84-87 starter.
It clears headers fine. I got mine from The Last Detail, its listed there as AC, but its actually Denso.
