Default wiring harness question

i may be transferring the TPI from my '89 to an '84 Camaro Z28 with a 305. my question is this, will the wiring harness from my vette work with the boat anchor 305? reason this is all coming about is that i am slappping a SR on my vette, which is also getting bored and stroked. the parts that will be replaced on my vette (i.e. intake, heads) could end up on the Camaro i plan to buy, if they'll fit. also, will it make a difference that my vette had no cold start injecter? i would appreciate the help if anybody on the forum has answers to these questions. thanks in advance.

Everything from the vette engine will work on the Camaro except for the CALPACK (memcal/prom) and possibly the heads, since the Vette has a 350.. No cold start injector isn't a problem, just use an 89 mamcal for a 305 TPI.

I'm confused! Did the Z have a TPI or Carb? If it had a TPI, then I wouldn't switch unless the Vette heads and intake are ported or cool in some other way. If it had a carb, then you are gonna need more than just some heads and an intake. Please give more details.

If he is splapping in a SR in the Vette, won't he still need his harness?

Don't know what his plans are, going to need a harness for both cars.

i will...darn, hadnt thought of that...how much do harnesses go for? it is carbed (as stated above). one of you said i would need more than just intake/heads. what did you mean? what kind of gains will i see by adding these parts to the formerly carbed 140 (ish) hp camaro?

If the Z is carbed, and you need all of your electronics for your Vette, then you will need all the electonics for your Z.
ECM
map/maf
injectors
knock sensor
emissions?
wiring harness = ~$250 from Painless?
fuel rails
electric pump/high pressure
TB
air filter
etc etc

I think it would be best to get it all off of a donor car, like a camaro/TA or vette. Other wise it can get expensive if you piece it together. Good luck!

thanks anti venom. i'm going to try the donor car route. it would definitely be cheaper to go that way than to try and buy seperately. i sincerely appreciate the responses i have gotten on this thread.
