Default 18 Inch Wheels All Around?

Anyone out there ever put 18X10.5 and 18X9.5 wheels on there C4?
Just curious about how they would look and perform and also any other pertinent info such as offset and back spacing, etc. I was also wondering if they would have a tendency to lift the car and raise the center of gravity there by diminishing any performance benefits gained by the additional width.

Thanks.

width is width. 9.5" wide wheels will be about the same width no matter the wheel size.

An extra inch will be negligable for traction, but the thinner sidewall will be epic.

I don't think a 1" larger wheel would increase CoG enough to matter, mainly, because the tire has a thinner sidewall.

Here's what I'm running:

Wheels:
Rear: 18x11.5 (offset - 8.25” of backspace)
Front: 18x10 (offset - 8.5” of backspace)

Tires:
Rear: 335/30/18
Front: 275/35/18

I'm running an inch wider on the rear than you are planning, and I've had to make some minor modifications to the rear suspension and wheelwells. I would guess that you could run 10.5" wides in the rear with no problem. I had GS 17x11's in the rear prior to these and had no problems as all with rubbing, etc. I went through quite a bit of trouble to get that extra 1/2" under there!

Ditto this for my track set up with Hoosiers. For our road conditions,
this is not a combo I would regularly run on the street. Drove to the
track once and decided I'll have other arrangements in place for next
season.

I use four of the 17x9.5 Z/06 wheels with GY GS-Cs for the street.

Lots of people.

Tire size determines this not wheel size.

I'm running the afs 18x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear C6 replica wheels. it seems to float more, I just need to adjust/align the wheels. Of course it could be floating just because I truly like the look.

overall diamater matters. not rim size.

i have 19x11.5s rear and 19x 10s front. they dont stick out or anything. ride is stiff of course but i do have poly bushings, ustom uber stiff bilsteins and stiff z07 springs all around.. and the fattest sway bars too. tire size is 305/30/19 and 255/35/19. after this set im going to a 315/25/19 and 265/30/19 size for an even smaller profile. car is lowered 3 inches or so. handles better... looks better.. lower center of gravity etc etc..

Has anyone ever heard of the C5 or C6 reproduction rims breaking.

I'm also interested in the C06 wheels repro wheels 9.5" offset 40-44 mm; 10.5" offset 50-56 mm. I will be getting smaller tires up front though, 255/40/18 and 295/35/18 rear. Toyo T1-R seems to be a pretty good tire.

I answered two of your questions. If the answers to those two questions aren't helpful then I guess you shouldn't have asked them.

It may look better, but what does your spine say about you driving such tires, and do your false teeth, in case you have any, fall out sometimes while driving??

Ha Ha! You must be in love with me because you keep looking for me all over the place.

That post wasn't about 18 inch wheels all the way around, so I haven’t checked it in awhile, but thanks for the reminder.
