Stripping out '90 for race only car.
Wanting to retain stock weatherpak ECM for engine management only.
Has anybody disabled the CCM inputs by programming the memcal or wiring in suitable inputs / resistors so that the bulk of the underdash wiring including the CCM can be removed?
Functions like starter relay can be bypassed , fuel pump etc direct wired.
What about the SIR (Airbag) signal?
using stock type pcm you cannot run the car without the ccm. It uses a random logic passcode for the security to power up the fuel and starter. You can override starter then you have no fuel.
Very helpfull man, and very clear instructions supplied with the harness. I have installed the complete setup into the 84 with no problems what so ever, the only thing that does'nt work is the ave / inst milage on the dash but that does'nt sound like that will be an issue for your setup .
I hope this helps, if you have any questions PM me
I will try to take a look at how the newer dash gets it's info but the ECM can be made to be stand alone with a simple VATS disable. If it where a 94/95 ECM I could do it for you but the 92/93 requires a chip burn. THe only other thing I can think of is the serial line but I believe that is in parrallel. None of the F-bodys have the CCM and they use the same ECM P/N for the 93 SD LT1. I installed a 95 LT1 into my 84 and everything worked fine, did the harness myself but the newer style dash is differnt and I don't know off the top of my head where the spedo gets its info from.
help
my 90 has an sys flashing on the dash
was told it is from a dead battery code in the ccm, remove that code and I am good , but never explained how to remove it
yes the brake light is flashing when my reader is set at ccm

CCM clear procedure is midway down this link. You should have no issues.
the one says to drive it over 20 to clear it , can't be mine to dam easy
If you have a SYS light that is generally an indicator of a charging system fault, bad alternator or battery. Have you corrected the problem with the charging system?
not sure I have a problem , have charged the battery up it is new , I had the wire off the alternator a few weeks ago when it was hot and arked it by mistake , fried the battery , am thinking it fried my float charger to as the battery has always gone dead if I don't start it every few days so use the charger ! the car started fine but on the way home I had a go with another C4 took him but it started backfiring at high RPM's always been a sign of a low battery , took it for a drive after charging it and runs fine , always thought the battery was to small and so is the 105 amp alternator but my meter says it is putting out 14.4 volts !
Thanks Guys
you are the best
I have printed it
will try to determine what applies to my 90 L98
and see if I can fix it
sure did not see this one coming
