Default RE: 92-93 LT1 stand alone ECM conversion

I am in the process of installing a Gen 7+ in a 93 LT1 Corvette (383). I have eliminated the GM PCM and managed to keep the cruise, traction control, speedo, all gauges, and AC all working properly. Any input on this subject would be great! Steve

This will be interesting, keep us informed.

Although I haven't tried it, this is my understanding:
It is my understanding that the CCM is the master computer and the ECM is a slave.
The CCM checks the key pellet and does a security "handshake" over the serial-bus with the ECM telling it if it is allowed to start the vehicle.
After the vehicle is started, the ECM can run the vehicle "stand alone", even if the CCM and the serial-bus communications go down.

It will be interesting if you can bypass the security "handshake."

This should be very interesting. As far as I know most of the inputs and outputs that control the AC, speedo, traction control all come from either the PCM or the CCM.

that is true... but if like me, you want to put an LT1 into a L98 equipped car, all of those things no longer matter - they are stand alone on older cars.
