Often you can get a little more use out of a stuck powerwindow motor if you hold the switch in the direction the window needs to go and then slam the door like you hate it, while holding the switch .
if the motor is stuck, the brushes are going bad... it's gonna require a new motor. Expect about $70.00 from Chris May at Superior Chevy - 1.800.728-8267 - tell him you are forum members and that I sent ya.

Both windows go to the same thermofuse on my 85. If it's the same onn yours, both windows will stop working when this fuse blows. (It should reset itself after it cools though.)
Thanks for the info guys, yes i have a multimeter and no I dont have a manual yet, i know where i can buy one but im surprised none of our member havent put it digital as of yet. none of you though seem to think its the switch should i leave that alone then?
well i tried slamming the tar out of the door and this motor aint going no where fast, so i guess im stuck with my window 3/4 up until i get this motor unless anyone else has a idea besides slamming my door shut

Jump or short the terminals on the switch. If the window works, the switch is bad. If the window still doesn't move, run 12 volts directly to the motor. You don't need a manual to figure THAT out.
Did any rainwater or other moisture get down inside the door before this happened? When moisture gets down inside, "some windows" appear for some strange reason to go down, but not up?!
A simple hair dryer on LOW HEAT with a flattened cone on the end to better direct air down inside the door panel may be used to dry it out from the top. It only takes a few minutes....
Please do NOT ask how I know this....
(Yes, I hope to have this fixed next month when the new interior is installed.)
