Have any other lt4 owners hit their rev limiters, and felt as though the power really hadn't fallen off yet. What I mean is it feels as though there are a few hundred more usable rpm that are being cut off. I really notice this more when winding out first gear. It just feels like the car is still accelerating when the pcm says
Oh yeah, when mine was stock I did it quite a few times...I did it a lot more when I put the 4.09 gears in the back! Now I have it set at 7100 and I still hit the damn thing!
The LT4 springs aren't that great, and I'm not sure when they hit valve-float, if you upgrade the valve springs, then you can pretty safely raise the rev limiter by a few hundred RPM. When I did heads/cam on my LT4 I set the limiter at 6450

If you were to analyze the optimum shift points on a stock LT4 you would find it would be right at or just above the rev limiter (6400)......if you have modded the car it might be higher......but if you are near stock you want to shift just before you hit the rev limiter.....
The car is basiclly stock, and i've seen the dyno graphs for stock lt4's (not mine),which would seem to back up what your saying. I just have never touched the rev limiter on anything else i've driven, and I've had a few performance oriented vehicles. When I hit the limit on the vette i'm suprised by it every time. Maybe the lt4 just builds rpm a lot quicker than my old rides.
