Default Fuel Pump And Sending Unit

What is difference in a fuel pump and gas guage sending assembly from an 88-91 and one for the '93 ZR1.. or they interchangable?. Thanks in advance.

They are NOT interchangeable, different lines and number of lines also the Zr1 was calibrated differently (I think) starting in 93 to read the 18 gallon smaller tank due to weight issues.

As far as I know, calibration on any GM (or domestic production for that matter) fuel gauge has been the same forever - 90 ohms full, 45 ohms half, completed circuit or 0 ohms empty. Getting the float arm to fit into the tank might be another issue, but the sending unit itself may be similar if not the same. Check Tech Tips since there's a good write up on how to fix it and if it still has pictures, you can at least compare it to what you've got. As to the pump, I know the LT5 is a little bit more since they stuck the extra wire it needs in my pump harness - drove me nuts until I finally discovered what it was for in the body schematics at the end of the Shop Manual.

Also the ZR1 sender is made to utilize two fuel pumps.

Dont forget that gm installed a rubber blocker in the mid year ZR1s to restrict fuel to 18 gallons max for a federal weight standard, they took it out in the last year. But due to that the fuel float arm was changed to reflect the different fuel capacity (ie 18 gallons was full instead of .XXX.) so the ohms are correct but the float calibration WAS changed.
