i did a donut in an intersection and after that my idle was at about 1800 rpm until i parked the vette, while parking it the rpm went back to normal........that was my first donut in the vette and it sure was quick to scoot the tail end around, i almost did 2 donuts. i love the posi trac. but why would the rpm remain high for awhile then go back down?
The only thing that comes to mind is maybe while having the throttle nailed and the steering wheel cranked over at the same time might have a caused a bind in the throttle cable or return spring.
You don't have any problems like that after straight line acceleration?

My throttle will stick sometimes around 1500rpm... I think it's due to the TB being worn out. It doesn't have anything to do with your burnout, thats for sure.

I gotta jump on the bagel bandwagon. Usually it's my intestinal tract that keeps a high idle after a doughnut but it soon returns to normal. More likely coincidence than anything else. Doing a donut in an intersection was not the brightest thing to do, but I have done worse in my stupid days and won't throw stones in a glass C4.
Be safe and keep your donuts confined to parking lots with few light poles, no other parked cars, and no security peeps. And if you insist on doing them, stop circular vehicular rotation and move forward whilst keeping the tires spinning. This will prevent heavy side loading on the suspension should you decide to lift off the gas mid-donut.
thats a good thought but i had to do it once just to be ready incase i have to do it latter in a real life situation. i dont really want to replace wheel bearings any sooner than i have to though.
