My friend has a 95' The ownwers manual states the front are
255-40-17's & the rear's are 285-45-17's.But....All 4 are 275-45-17's .
What do you think happened. The door placard clearly states
275-45-17's for both front & rear???
Check his RPO codes I bet he has a Z07. And actually you got your sizes a little mixed up. On regular Corvette fronts are 255/45/17 and rears are 285/40/17. Z07's are 275/40/17 all around and ZR1's are 275/40/17 up front and 315/35/17 in the rear.

Bumfuddled
285-40-17 rear(17-9.5 wheel) and 255-45-17 front(17-8.5wheel) are standard
175-40-17(17-9.5 wheels) all around on z51 suspension
I can't imagine! The car is only 10 years old. Is it possible someone has changed the tires, already? No body would ever think of changing tire sizes, would they? What a sacraledge...an abomination. See if you can get a trace of DNA off of the tires. We can then see if they were installed by a Bowling Green employee or if we have to track down the evil-doer.
Kinda OT, but since I got the gramps suspension and "30 PSI" tires, I have a sticker that says, paraphrasing, "inflate to 35 PSI for speeds over 150 mph". My buddy has the Z51, and the evenly sized tires already set for 35 PSI, so he didn't have the sticker.
Still, he thought it was cool enough that he bought one from a dealer to put on his car.
