if the emblem is like my 92, it was bolted on... from the inside. 2x10mm bolts.

however, they are also held on by sticky tape.

Use some dental floss to cut the glue off then remove all residue. then put the new emblem on.

Yep, they're right up in there. Might wanna use some peanut butter in your socket. Seriously though, you may want to put a reversed wad of sticky tape in your socket because if the nut falls out of it before you pull the socket out of the hole, it's lost inside your hood forever.

Try a deep 10mm socket to remove the nut. When reinstalling, the nut will cut it's own threads into the prong of the new emblem

If it has been replaced the new ones come with the 2 sided black sticky tape.Might be why you did not see any bolts.Heat it and pry it off if this is the case.If you want to screw them on you an get the plastic nuts at a hardware store. They are for screwing onto unthreaded plastic posts. They look sorta look like a nut made from pressed sheet metal the local part store should have them too.

Duh look at the back emblem. They are basically the same except for the bend on the front.

Use a deepwell socket with a very light touch to remove the nuts as they will strip very easily. You have to allow them to ease up from the plastic posts. In fact use a screwdriver handle with a socket on it.

Bingo! The emblems are not threaded, nor is the emblem sold with the 2 10 MM nuts. You need to buy the nuts and as you tighten the nuts you will "cut in" the new threads.

Mine had been removed before I owned the car when it was repainted, when I put the new ones on, I got some "speednuts" and used the stickyback. I think I got the nuts at Advance auto parts. As someone said, use something sticky in your deep socket or it is easy to loose them inside the hood. I dropped one, but retrieved it with a magnet I believe.

I lost one of mine - I used a flexible shaft with a magnetic pickup on the end to fish the lost nut out from the inner hood lining.

Removing the nuts is easy with a 10 mm socket. However, removing the socket from the hood recesses with the nut inside the socket is a challenge. Try cutting two strips of electrical tape about 1/8 inch wide. Place each strip diametrically opposite each other inside the socket. When you force the socket (with the tape) over the nut, the tape will hold the nut in place. This is also good to use when installing the nuts. I learned this the hard way!

if anyone cares those "look pressed nuts" are called speed nuts, you can get a bag of assorted sizes from parts vendors.
