Default Stock LT4, LT1 oil pump

Does anyone know what type of oil pump is in these 2 motors? High volume, high pressure, or both. And what after market pump closly matches it. I am building a 383 for my truck and would like to use one in it. I like the pressure my LT4 runs and would like my truck to do the same.

They are definitely not HV. The LTx engines have tight bearing clearances which tends to elevate oil pressure. A good aftermarket HP or standard pump will serve your purposes as well or better and be cheaper. You would be safer staying away from a HV pump unless your complete oiling system (including return) is designed with that in mind. Too much is made of oil pressure. More than you need simply costs horsepower.

The stock pump is considered "high pressure". And it's a very good pump. You won't gain a thing by going aftermarket.

I dont want to do anything to the vette pump. I was just wondering what aftermarket pump matches the vette pump so I can put one in my truck.

A good Melling or comparable replacement pump would be more than adequate for your purposes, about $35. Spend $10 more and also get their hardened shaft w/ steel coupler. Real cheap insurance.

Sorry, any OEM equivalent will work. I'd tend towards "high pressure" .vs "high volume".

As far as I know the stock OE pump is a standard volume standard pressure pump. LPE recommends using a stock pump that is modified with the GMPP white Z28 high pressure releif spring which is about $4 from GMPP. It will give you about 70 PSI of oil pressure. Given the standard 10 PSI/1000 RPM of intended operating RPM range. I have personally used this same setup in several small blocks and never had an oiling issue. The LTx pumps are the same as any other GEN1 SBC, drive shaft and all.
