I would also like to know about the headers and exhaust cost, etc. At about what RPM does the T-100 turbo start to make boost? What would you say the motor was capable of revving too? I'd like to build a very similar combination with a zf-6 and run hopefully about mid 9's. I was thinking something along the lines of a 406 or bigger. The turbo would be probably a little smaller than the T-100 just for drivabilities sake. Thank you again for the information, Michael
Hey Michael, The turbo headers are 1 7/8s with a race style merge collector double flanges for proper sealing at cylinder heads, they are stainless steel with mild steel flanges due to the expansion rates of both metals, this is the proper way of building a race style turbo header. The price on these headers are $2,400.00 U.S. To be honest with you, about the exhaust and the down pipe I like the car to be in my possession for proper fit because of clearances being tight with accessories, frame, rad etc..

About T-100, of which it starts to make boost, (that is all in the tuning). I've had no problems with boost at low RPM, with the cars I've built T-100s I've had it spooling and making boost pretty much as soon as you touch the gas. I do not have any problems with turbo-lag under low RPMs . One thing to remember with Tubo cars is the bigger the exhaust down pipe is the easier the turbo will spool under low RPMs. On our street cars I usually make a 4 inch to 5 inch down pipe coming off the exhaust housing of the turbo which then either splits into four inch into dual 3 inch or 3 1/2 inch exhaust. I cant express myself on how much its in the tuning, another thing to remember when building a turbo car for the street is a good size rad and oil cooler for the engine.

About the RPM: depending on the camshaft specs and engine size diameter, I usually like running 500-600 RPM less than the camshaft recommends, turbo cars definetly make encridible power and torque.

Hope to hear how your progress goes with your turbo car. Do not hesitate to email or call for any questions.

Bill,
Once again, thank you for the information. I too was wondering if the power steering could be retained with the setup. I'm not worried about the a/c. Things are on hold for now because of winter and also due to garage space( Too many toys, not enough space). Anywho, in the spring I'd like to take a roadtrip to see the shop and the cars as well as talk about my upcoming build-up. I would like very much to use a set of your headers, intake, exhaust, etc.
Thanks, Mike
