Default Super Ram Installation

My cam is in and now I'm getting ready for the Super Ram installation. I called the supplier yesterday and expected delivery is three weeks. I understand it's a bear to install. Is there any special tools I should purchase to aid in the installation. Please chime in with pointers.
Thanks

Default some info

I just finished installing mine a few days ago so it's definitely fresh in my mind. I did the runners a few months ago and only can recall that I had to remove the valve covers to get a shot at the lower runner bolt between the paired runners. It says that in the install instructions. Just be aware so you don't have A/C and all the other stuff that blocks the valve covers from coming off easily to remove. Like the wiring harness. I hooked all mine up then realized I had to remove it all again. Not fun.

As for the plenum the instructions aren't bad but there are a few tricks that helped me. I did the plenum in about and hour and half or so. First take a dremel and slot the ends of the bolts so you can draw them up with a screwdriver from the top, you will have to wiggle things to get them to keep comin up. They want you to put a thin film of silicone sealer on both sides of the gasket, do so, you really really dont want any vacuum leaks. I put a dab under the head of the bolt as I installed it and put some red locktite down the hole from the top when it was a few threads from through so it would seal and not come out.

As to tools the critical one is the Sears offset ratched wrenches. They make like three different types of ratcheting box wrenches now but only the offset ones with the kinda open ends where you an see the teeth have a 1/4 - 12 point that you need. I used this wrench on all but the corner bolts. The corner bolts are too close to the runners for the larger ratching head so I just used a standard box end wrench. They are mostly easy to get to so just be patient and turn them a bit at a time. Then inside ones are tricky to get into the holes from underneath, I have big hands and dropped them a few times which was frustrating. Also disconnect the injector wires that are there and just push it out of the way while you put them in.

Definitely get them all in before tightening them down. Since you have a timer basically running as soon as you put the silicone sealer on try to not have any distractions. Once you start, go through until you finish. I used a set of nail sets from above to align the gaskets and keep them there while I was cursing and wrestling with the bolts. Just be careful not to hammer them in and mess up the threads. I bought some 1/4 - 12 point sockes but never used them, the ratchet box end and the normal box end did everything just fine. You should be able to get it done before the silicone fully sets up. The top is just a bolt on. Hope this helps. Good luck and just be patient and take your time. No leaks is the win.

Start with archive searches in C4 Tech, that will yield more information than you will have time to read. Alot of sspackman's threads are in there and he had just about every possible problem you could.

I am putting together a page on installation on my site, which is incomplete still.
