Tach cuts out while hot
On my 85' Stock L98, I have been having a high idleing problem. I was told that it was because my battery recently died, and was fixed. I was also told that the idle will come down on its own because the computer has to relearn the idle.
Well, its been a week and the idle has started to come down some. But now a wierd thing keeps happening. My tach stops working! It works when the car is first started and is cold, and it works until the engine reaches normal operating temperature for a few minutes. Then the tach just reads 0 rpm.
I know its not a loose wire or anything, because if I let the car sit for a while, I can start it again and the tach will be working again until the car gets warmed up.
Any ideas?
