Chris at Superior advertises Afew different choices: Double roller HD timming chain kit or LT1/LT4 extreme duty timming chain kit or dont bother with the kits and just get the chain. Whos using the double rollers? Are they better. My 93 has 50,000 miles and Im putting in a new vented opti and water pump , porting heads and cam. Please advise.
The double rollers are clearly superior but require changing to an EWP to utilize them. It is what I run and always my recommendation.
Id like to stick with a regular water pump, so with that being said that leaves me with the LT1/LT4 extreme duty chain kit. Would you guys get the kit which comes with cam and crank sprockets and water pump gear or just get the chain and save the money? Do these parts get worn down? Id like to save money but id like to do it right more so.
I may be wrong, but I thought you would have to get the sprockets with the extreme set due to it being wider. Someone correct me if im wrong but be gentle.

They also have just a LT4 chain. Id like to know what most guys have been putting on there cars when they do engine mods?

Regardless, you always replace a timing set as a set, anyway. Not a place to scrimp.

You can usually find them for $35-40 used. New ones aren't that bad either but I can't remember the price. A '96 cover will work too, you just have to plug the crank sensor hole with a 3/4" core plug.
