I bought a 94 LT-1 Coupe in May 05. The seller tells me it has hooker headers (Super Comps). I look under the hood and afirmative, those are Hooker Super Comps. I don't really think twice about it as I know the car is a bit of a project and it sounds so good.
I climb under the car a few months ago and discover that the headers are within fractions of an inch of actually touching the oil filter under the car! I assume that it is not a great thing that they are touching the oil filter. I will take a guess on this on and say that these headers are probably not designed for the corvette. Maybe they fit F bodies?
Anybody else run into this before? I was preparing to take them off and send to Jet Hot for a coating... I don't want to spend a bunch of money coating these if they are the wrong fit.
more than likely the headers you have are probaly just for the first generation sb chevy, so they would probaly fit the l98 engine with no problem, i have hedman headers and there for my 85 corvette, but if you compare them to just any sb 350 headers they are pretty much the same, so i guess what im saying is that mabey there not designed for the lt1
The Hookers on my l98 are miles away from the oil filter. The LT1 may be different but I would'nt think they should be touching it.
That being said, if they are not quite touching it and it can still be removed for filter changes, and if you are having them coated then it will cool'em and you should be ok.

I have the Hookers 2151s on my LT-1. There is no problems with them being so close to the oil filter. Mine are coated. If you are really worried about it you could put some header wrap around the spot next to the oil filter.
If you think about it for a second, you can answer your own question. The heads bolt to the block. The headers bolt to the heads. The oil filter bolts to the block. The header to oil filter clearance wouldn't be any different if it were in a Camaro, Nova, pick up truck, or an engine stand. Your headers MAY deviate from the "model" but the problem isn't because they are in the wrong chassis.
