Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions regarding my headlight motor problem. Here is the summary: the housing is missing a chunk, the black gear inside is completely mangled, a brush is missing from the motor, and the magnets inside the motor are broken.
I don't know how all this damage happened to my headlight motor, but I have decided that fixing it is not an option. I'll be looking for a used motor to swap out. Thanks again for all the help. If nothing else, this experience sure was educational!
Check the parts 4 sale, there is a few cars being parted out. Post your looking for one and i'm sure you'll get response.
As for yours, i'll bet the gear lost a chunk and when the piece got jambed between the gear and housing all hell broke loose.
both sides have this problem of tearing up the inner part of the black gear, it happens every few months and i have no idea why! are there any suggestions before i just go for a rebuild or new motors from places you guys are posting?

If I were you, I'd purchase one of the headlight upgrade kits from MAM or Ecklers.
That way, you'll have more reliable headlamps and can replace the Delrin bushings when they go bad since that's the most failure-prone and readily repairable part of the 1987-96 style headlamp motors.
