Default Antenna connection at the console

Looking at my 84 electrical shop manual for my 84 the "yellow" wire supplies power when the key is in the accessory or run position. I'm sure I connect the radio antenna wire to this wire, correct?

The antenna relay is engerized when the key is turned to ACC or run and the radio is turned on.

Make sense?

Brimis, I have a Helms at my shop. I'm running out for Lunch right now. If no one else responds I'll post the details according to the wiring diagrams later.

yellow wire does not sound right to me.

that is the memory wire... it's always hot... you need a switched lead for the antenna.

The pink wire is listed as "Radio switch "on" control feed"

The Yellow is listed as "power antenna switch feed"

From what it looks like in the wiring diagram the Pink is the switched "on" feed to the radio.

Hope this help,

The yellow wire should hook to the power wire giong into your radio as that the radio only plays when the key is on or in ACC. the antenna coming out of your radio should be hooked to the pink antenna feed wire that energises your antenna relay.
Hope this helps

oh, wait, this is an 84... it's before they started to standardize the wiring colours... damnit. even then, I don't think GM follows those standards.
