Default Help Quick!!!REALY QUICK!

OK guys,
I am selling my blue 91 to a guy in arkansas tonight and hes on his way here to pick it up.I pulled the car out and the bose radio isnt working.I drove the car thursday and it was working fine, now it dont light up or anything.I can push the top button and the clock will light up and it will still accept and eject cds but theres no light and no sound at all.
I have another head unit here that I know for a fact works so I put it in and still the same thing.I Checked all the fuses and the wiring behind the deck the best I could and I couldnt find anything wrong.I wiggled all the wires under the passenger dash and watched the radio to see if maybe I had a bad connection somewhere but again I got nothing.
I need to figure out whats wrong with it in like the next 2 hours....please if anyone has any ideas let me know....

tia......Al

I'm only familiar with my 86 but on mine one fuse is responsible for the power to the antenna relay and bose amp relay. When that goes bad i have no sound and no antenna but lights etc on radio work.
I would test the fuses rather than give them a visual. I have schematics for 86 only so hopefully someone else can step in with the info you need.

The radio fuse is good in the main block. If i pull it I can not turn the clock on, the ant, csty fuse is good also. the only fuse I found that didnt have any power to it is the fuse under the dash in the small block where the fuse for your security system is.I checked the block itself and it doesnt have any power to it for the radio. i guess this would be the fuse for the amps also???

well that website help a bit...thank you...I still dont get forsure why the heck i dont have any 12v power to the stereo or amp when the fuses are not blown.I AM ON MY WITZ END! I did not sell the car because the buyer didnt want the hassles with the electrical issues....now I have to fiddle with it to get it fixed and then I have to go back and advertise the dang thing again.
anyway guys I appreciate all your help and tomarrow morning I am going out to tear into this thing.I am going to go through the whole harness if I have to.does anyone know what exactly are the wires that supply the 12v constant and switched to both the amp and head unit? also if theres any wires that run to the ignition?
tia again.

Did you check the "CDM box" (whatever the heck that is) like they suggest on that site? That is their first step to do for no power.
If the clock is keeping time, don't fool with the 12v constant wire, that is good. Shouldn't be any stereo wires going to the ignition...its power is tapped off of a 12v "switched" circuit on the fuse block.

I would be surprised if it was the reciever module... that is most odd.

however, I would check relays... I will research in my Helm Manual regarding relays and get back with you shortly.

bogus,
Can you tell me what wires on the cdm box and at the back of the stereo suppy power.I know i have 12v constant because the clock keeps time but I dont have any sound at all or a display for the radio or cd.when I turn the power on to the deck It dont even click or turn on the power antanna.I am going to go through and check all the wires to make sure its getting the correct power.I dont have any idea where the relays are or if indeed there are any. I was reaging somewhere that the only relay is in the cdb box but I am not 100% sure about this.anyway all your help would be very appreciated......thanks again.Al

ok well I pulled the cdm out today and checked everything out.the box itself dont have any burnt smell to it and I know that I have a 12v constant from the box to the radio but I have no idea what wire would be the 12v switched.I am in desprate need of getting ahold of the wiring diagram for this thing.I have checked every fuse in the whole car about 10 times and I checked the power to the little buse block under the dash and it was fine.I guess I need to find out which wires on the back of the radio are the lead power wires and trace them to the problem. If anyone knows what wires are what on both the cdm and the radio please let me know.thanks

ok heres what I got off the back of the deck.I also checked the ground wire and it is good.from what I can tell I think the ign. wire is bad somewhere...? anyone else have any ideas?

red/white= 12.11v key on and off
green=10v on and off
orange 12v on and off
green and white=5v on and off.

I checked every wire 3 times with a volts meter to make sure I didnt miss any. I didnt not get any power from the pink at all and I saw a solid purple(no power either) but no purple and yellow..
thanks ang hopefully I can figure this thing out since electronics are not my specialty. thanks guys

My manual is from the 1992... I have no idea if the wire colours changed.

This is when someone with a 1991 should chime in and confirm the wire colours.
