Ordered new carpet to change the interior color on my 86 coupe. It came in and all was good until I noticed it had no door sill replacement pieces. Spent 300+ on new carpet assuming it was a complete set and now have to spend more. Apparently these are not included with "full" set.
Replacement molded sill assy is 100-150 bucks each, but appears to be out of stock from what I could find on the net. Flat (roll) carpet would be a major undertaking to make fit because of 90 degree curve plus extra angles on one end of sill. i would certainly consider dye but I am going from black to tan--probably wont cover. Anyone got any ideas?
That's why i just dyed mine instead of spending that kind of money on carpet. It came out far better than I would have imagined. I ordered a set of new plain black floor mats, and the dyed carpet is indestinguishable from the new mats.
