I'm looking for suggestions on the best all around software to use with a PC laptop to convert into a scan tool. I would like to be able to interface with both OBDI and OBDII vehicles.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. I want to be able to do everything from basic trouble codes to data logging. I'm sure we have at least a handful of folks who have a good handle on this stuff.
My vote is for Datamaster also. Probably because i'm still using the 20 free scans.
The price after the trials is fairly cheap. I built my own cable for under $5 so i don't have much invested other than the $85 laptop.
Craig Moate's software is good and it's free forever. I like free stuff
I checked out TT's DataMaster it looks pretty cool. I have not been able to get Craig Motes software to work because I have Windows XP. Can I run his software on XP or do I have to get a dedicated laptop with like 95 or 98 on it?
One more thing. Does anyone know of software which will run on a Windows CE device? I have a NEC MobilePRo 800 that would be a good sized little device. Thanks
