ok well it shouldnt be running that same a/f ratio anymore, i just installed a chip tuned by Alvin last night and the car seems to be running alot better.
ok, im lean if thats the case, Im reading this a/f ratio wrong.
So why is it that the exhaust stinks/stinked so much?
And how can I tell if my cat is damaged? and s this a number that cold damage the cat?
Sorry for so many questions
I bought a chip from Alvin last night and was wondering how hard is it to install? The pdf. on my computer is messing up and I can't see the installation page. If you could give me some basic do's and dont's that would be great. 1992 LT1 automatic.

To change the chip on a 1992.
1 Remove the ECM from its mounts ( 2 10mm nuts).
2 Turn over ECM.
3 Remove the plate covering the chip on the bottom side of the ECM.
4 Push down on the two clips on the end of the chip and the chip will eject.
5 Plug in new chip and press firmly to seat and lock clips.
6 Reverse steps 1 to 3 above.
yeah with the piggy back system that Alvin will sell you, you must have to not only take of the little plate covering for the chip but the whole ecm case. This is no big deal, its just a few screws. other than that exactly what jerris said is what you do.
Thanks guys for all the cat info, being that my car has been running LEAN I guess there is not much reason for the cat to be clogged. next time i have the car on a lift im still going to give it a chekc and a shake to make sure.
Thanks again for all the helpfull info, Ill be sure to pass it on.
one other question, being lean what are some steps I can take to make sure no damage has been done to the engine or pistons? Scope it?
