code analyzer
I am looking for a code analyzer that doesn't just tell me the flashes but actually tells me what the code is. I believe I saw one in a catalog or mag at one time but have misplaced (dreamed?) of where it was. It was a handheld device.
thanks. It would be for an 87 L98

Re: code analyzer (Lv2Driv)
AutoXray makes a handheld scanner with the features you're describing. Here's the website:

Re: code analyzer (Lv2Driv)
I would totally recommend the scanner. It will read trouble codes and define them. It can capture all the data in one second intervals and store it. Real time data view is a great feature too. I find this very useful when tuning the car and obtaining information to enable me to modify the ECM data. Well worth the cash for anyone tuning a stock or modified GM car.

look at http://members.tripod.com/moatesenheimer/gmecm/
You can build your own scanner. The interface from ECM to your com port on the computer is easy to make. Craig his software is specially made for the corvette ecm.
You can also look at http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/aldl.htm
he has a very nice windows program.
Try these programs first, they are free. :D
