well guys i replaced my starter sat.it was a delco lokked identical to the one i pulled it had a round soft like gasket at the end i put on the new one but it works but i am hearing it very little at start if you can imagine what sound i am talking about so what should i do?
If it's not to bad you may want to give it a week or so-when I replaced my starter I thought I was going to have to remove and shim it-but after about 2 weeks-no more noise-maybe the starter flywheel teeth
just needed to mesh a little-it's been in there trouble free for 4 or 5 yrs now.

when i first started wrenching, i thought the same thing after i had installed a starter in my IROCZ with no shims............as luck would have it i was at the auto parts store buying a new starter 6 days later

thanks i may try that cause its not that bad if you hit real quick you cant hear it but if you hold for a sec or 2 you can hear it worse...
