Default shift kits?

94 auto/shift kits, what are the options?Are they as easy to install as B&M kits for the th350 trans of old days?

B&M is still pretty easy on a 4l60e. Not as easy as an old turbo 350, but somewhat easy. The transgo kit seperates the men from the boys. Very complex install by comparison,.

got my pcm re tune for shifting from pcm4less and part/down shifting/ wot shifts are great now

For the 4L60E, B&M makes the Shift Plus. Hooks into a couple of wires at the ECM and gives you three settings, stock, firm and extra firm. Very easy to install and much cheaper than a shift kit. It was about $30 when I bought mine a couple of years ago. Spend the money you save on a nice transmission cooler.

The "modified" Trans-Go Performance Shift kit will do more than any edit program will. You can have smooth part throttle shifts, and progressively firmer shifts with more throttle with the "modified" version. The Trans-Go vacuum modulator is a good way to improve these units, when used with the Trans-Go Shift kit. It allows for "instant" downshifts, instant pressure rise in the front pump, prevents pressure spikes due to malfunctions in the electronics, and more.

Transgo install was pretty easy i thought. However, the 3-2 check valve on my car keeps getting stuck inboard so i only have first gear. Transgo has sent me a new one and it still isn't right.

I just had a conversation with the man that does most of our shops transmisions about doing my 87, he said because of some patents or something that transgo has the best throttle valve on the market for a 700r4 and that he throws the rest of the transgo kit away???

I really do wish i knew more about transmissions

I assume that's how it works. I'm sure it accomplishes it in the same way that a reprogramming/tune does.

I had the shop install a Trans-go shift kit along with a B&M tranny cooler. It is well worth the money. Fast, hard, crisp shifts!
