all the gm smallblock pans that i have seen (hundreds of em-really) are the same height....lower portion of some runs futher forward for greater capacity ...internal baffles vary...i've got a '67 five quart pan on the '75 block in my '86 vette and if fits fine altho the oil cooler piping is a tight fit.
aftermarket pans come in multiple depths,kick-outs,etc
check pick-up height if you change pans.
do NOT use a chromed pan--heat disipation is poor
