OK, Centerforce received my Clutch Disc and PP and said that they think that the Disc, 'just didn't seat", they say it happens and that this is the only thing they think could have happened. They tested the Pressure Plate and said that it works in the middle range of acceptable clamp force for this model of PP.
The clutch I have, CTF-DF039130 ($474-new) , I also have the Centerforce Billet FW, CTF-700105 ($422-new)
Centerforce is going to put new Disc media linings on and will resurface the pressure plate and send it back to me free of charge. It will be just like new when it comes back. The package had no more than 3000 miles on it when I mailed it back to them. I should receive it from them @ Feb-13th.
I did not have slippage issues before I put the Superram on, The clutch will now slip on full acceleration but will "catch up" to the speed of the flywheel eventually. With the Miniram, I had dynoed at 405 RWTQ but now with the Superram, I wonder what the RWTQ is now, probably @ 450-RWTQ I would guess, maybe more.
FYI, the Centerforce Clutch is rated at 600 Crank TQ/HP.
My dilemma is this, should I put the Centerforce back on and chance it or sell this new package of Centerforce Clutch and Centerforce Single Mass Billet flywheel and buy the McLeod Street Twin?
What are you Centerforce guys running, i.e. TQ and HP?
Also, yes I checked for
1. Clutch Fork travel, with the tranny out and the slave out, the fork was loose.
2. PP bolt clamp depth, to make sure that the PP was clamped down tight, the PP flange is 1.080" thick and from the bolt shoulder to the FW I get 1.025", so I have .060 of clamp on the PP flange.
3. Made sure that the Slave retracted farther than the fork could travel so the fork was not bottoming out on the slave rod.
Nice to hear Centerforce took care of you. I have a similar problem with my McLeod where it does not "bite" very well initially and sometimes slips as you describe. Since that goes against everything I've read about how it is supposed to behave, I guess I'll have to give McLeod a call and see if they can help me out in a similar manner. When I removed the assembly a few months ago, everything still looked pretty new, except for a few hot spots where a tire shop and muffler shop burnt the hell out of it
Who told you the Centerforce package was good for 600 ft/lbs? When I was talking to Exotic Muscle about clutches, they told me it was only rated to 400 ft/lbs so I went with the Street Twin. Perhaps that was a different part number.

I spoke to their technical line and they have been great. Roger told me that the clutchs were good for the 600 figure.
oh crap...thats the same thing that happens to my. i have a centr. on my 4+3 and when im going really fast it slips then catches unless im on a strait long "dragway" at around 130mph theres just smoke everywere dosent catch. But thats with no o.d. so im reving 4500K at that point i think.
Mine only has 2-3K miles on it but its 2 years old. (engine rebuild) i dont know were the recipt is. Would they fix???????
But im doin the zf conversion so? not worth it?
