92 LT1 idle air question

Default 92 LT1 idle air question

I have a known bad idle air control valve on my 92 vette. It uses the early LT1 style which screws into the IAC housing. Is it possible to switch to the later style IAC valve which mounts to the housing with two screws? The electrical connector looks to be the same. The reason being, the later style is considerably cheaper and more common than the old style on my car. Thanks in advance!

you would have to change the IAC mounting plate, I would think.

If it was designed to be retained with set screws, I would expect it would have o-rings and other things to maintain a good seal.

You will only buy one they usually last a looong time.Especially if the TB is kept clean.I would think the cost for conversion might outweigh the savings.I was thinking along Bogus's lines there .I have not seen the difference can only imagine as mine screws in.
