Default Throttle Body Question

I just put in the BBK 52mm throttle body and wanted to know if I needed to do anything to the car to get it to except the additional air it will be getting. I've got a 96 LT1 with a K&N filter and cut lid. I bypassed the throttle body, and am running a 160 thermostat and Hypertech PP.

My car also uses the 52 MM TB. I would rec you consider your entire intake and exhaust system. The biggest restriction on my motor is the stock intake and exhaust tubular headers. So I do not believe in my case that my motor is breathing as well as it could. There are headers that will fit your car and are street legal. These will help. There is always the LT-4 intake to. In addition you might want to get a ported MAF.

These are a few suggestions based on my limited knowledge.

Ported MAF's are a bad idea. All you are doing is lying to the computer about the air that is comming in to the motor and the computer is having to use a correction factor (BLM's) to compensate, which will mess with your WOT fuel enrichment.
Shorty headers are the only legal headers for your car. They will offer some improvement for you, but nothing like a long tube header will. But then you have to weigh the legal and smog factors....
LT4 intake will not only not work with your heads, but it will also offer no improvement over the LT1 intake. The LT1 intake is a great piece and can support 500 RWHP NA with a little cleanup. Don't mess with it.
The intake on your car is, for the most part, optimized with the cut stock air lid and K&N. The only real reason to go with any of the other pieces is style although a HP or two is possible.

Given that your car is a MAF car, you will more than likely not have to do anything for tuning. As long as your MAF is unported, it will report the amount of air comming in and the computer will accurately dispense fuel and such.
If you have an auto, your shift points MIGHT be changed a little and it is up to you if they are acceptable or not.
Good Luck,
