Default need help removing bellhousing from lt1

As above,
i'm trying to take the bellhousing off a 93 LT1 (engine out of car). I've got all the external bolts out, but it is loose, and won't come off.

I see a small hex head (under another), but it's way bigger than any allen wrench I've got...

anyone know the size for this, and if it's normal or cross threaded..?

Or, am I going about this the wrong way and missed something?

I think the clutch fork must come out cause the bearing is retained on the pressure plate

That's the fork ball for the clutch fork. As I recall you can get it loose from inside the bellhousing. When I helped Rex Ruby change his clutch that was the hangup, we couldn't get the clutch fork off the throwout bearing until we loosened this fork ball.

The fork ball mechnism screws into the bellhousing from the inside with a 6 sided head, what you see that needs a large alan head is a lock-down.

Rotate the bellhopusing so that the clutch fork is down toward the ground & then pull back

No need to take the fork off, never have removed it in 10 tranny pulls.

I just pulled the ZF out of my 94 this afternoon, and I ran into the same problem of getting the bellhousing off. However, I think my problem is the fact that I haven't taken the catalytic converters off, and their braces are holding the bellhousing against the block. Do I have to take the converters off to get the bellhousing off? I hope not, because the six exhaust manifold flange studs are badly rusted, and I am sure they will break. Maybe it's time to buy a set of headers...

Please let me know if pulling the converters is necessary to get the bellhousing off.
