Owners who have long tube headers; How in the heck do you keep wire loom coverings from melting? Has anybody had trouble especially by the brake booster? ANY and ALL input appreciated!
The brake lines, etc. can be insulated from header heat by wrapping them in "Header Wrap" available at speed shops, mail order etc. It's adhesive backed about 1" wide. Seems to work well.

The ceramic coating is well worth the $$$, just in headaches alone. The wrap always seems to come loose or flake off for me. I do alot of work under the engine, and every time you rub up against them, fibers flake off. Not good to breathe in I bet. Don't want to put a respirator on every time I work on things under the hood.
So get the ceramic coating onthe headers, you can spend your time focused on just replacing burnt spark plug wires and boots instead of other items. That is, until you get a set of ceramic plug boots after burning through 6 sets of rubber "hi-temp" boots in 6 weeks..
