ok ive got a 94 lt1 with auto tranny and have been playing with putting in a set of 3.73 gears in the rear i currently have a 3.07 rear end. Has anybody done this and how steetable did it turn out. any help would be greatly appreciated

If you do much highway driving, you'll miss the mileage. I'd recommend a 24-2600 stall converter first and see if that doesn't give you the punch you're looking for. With the low gear ratio of the 700R/4L60E transmissions, a 3.07 is not that bad of a gear. I'm still running it and have no plans to change it.
I'm not smart enough to figure out the rpms in OD, but i if anyone could post the differences, i think it would be helpful in making a decision on what gear to go with. I know there are other factors to consider but its a start.
Maybe if you could compare rpms a few common mph's. I too like the 3.07 in there now.
