Default Hurst Roll Controll install?

I just purchased a hurst roll controll for my 85 Vert. I read the instruction / warning sheet, and looked over the insruction diagrams. None of the diagrams are useful compared to the actual setup that I have on my car. Has anyone used Hurst roll controll and if so what adjustments did you use to make it work?

I installed the TCI kit on my '87. I disconnected the front brake line from the master cylinder. I ran a custom line (about 8") from the front port of the master cylinder to the inlet port on the line lock unit. Then I installed my front brake line (with the help of an adapter - I don't recall what size) into the outlet port of the line lock unit.

Where are you encountering problems?

If you search the archives using "line lock" in the keywords, you'll come up with a couple of threads. One of them has some pictures that Mojo posted of his set up.

My problem is the master cyclinder on my car has two separate brake lines for the front left and right brakes. I realize that I need to "T" them together to make it work on both front wheels, but what type of material should I use? and where start looking to get the material I will need?

Skateparkdave did a install on his car. I asked him how and what did he do? I think he could shed some light on what direction to go in

You will need 2 - 2 to 1 blocks. One before the line lock & one after it. I put mine on the lower frame - you cannot tell that it is there.

Sorry, I've been gone all weekend, I just got the pm.

Mine only has one front line so I'm no help.

Sounds like 85vet has the plan. Any pics 85vet?? Pics are worth 1000 words.

If you just use the front line on the master cyl you should be ok.
Remove break line from master ,hook that line into the hurst unit and install a short line from the roll control to the master. That should do it .I would not try to "T" into the line in the center of the frame or the lines near the steering knuckle ,that is way to much work. When you hook up the button dont ground the wire you will fry the button.

...That's the easiest way to do it. You can find the new short line at NAPA with fittings/flared already. You need a adapter or a new fitting for the 'old' line that went to the master. If you go for a new fitting, it must be doubled flared.

You may be right about the work - but it holds my car just fine for my burnout.

Check out how I set up mine - see Line-Lock folder

Another item to note - the brake lines are metric, so I had to ream the fittings slightly to enable them to fit.

Hey John hows it going?,
I may be wrong but it's my understanding that he has three lines coming out of his master and not just two. One for the rear and two for the front. He pm'd me about it and I advised he start a thread because I only have one from the front and one from rear. This is why the "T" is needed on his going to and from the linelock solenoid. If not he'll only be holding one side. That would make for an interesting "doughnut" burnout.

Do you have a pic of the master cylinder with the two front lines?? I'm interested to see what it looks like.

Whew, I'm glad I only have one front and one rear line at master. That looks like a bit of a PITA of an install.

I added a pick of the master cylinder to photobucket - it is a bit of a pain.

I would just tie into the bottom of the "T" Above the T doesn't look like factory.

Ahhhh, there it is. Thanks 85vet!!

And here's what mine looks like. This is what John (REDC4CORVETTE) is describing. Much easier install but on a single front master cylinder...Hope this sheds further light to all interested.

On second thought ,see if the round unit where the one break line goes into had just that one line to it or if it breaks off again. If it is just the one line I would tie in below the round electrical unit.
I would have everything ready to go or plug the break lines so not alot of fluid leaks out. When you are done make sure you have plenty of fluid in the master. If the breaks lock up when using the line lock and wont unlock ,you have air in the system.Let us know.
I will Dave .
I hope the T.V. station K5 will make more racers show up for Saturday.I only like the Summit racing on fridays.I hope to have the blown car running for this race. They made me VP ,that is what happens when you make big explosions at the track ,they promote you. I doubt I will be able to race on Saturday.
