BEFORE I go out and try to buy one, can anyone tell me definitively whether or not the '3 way check valve' in the vacuum lines that go to the 'accumulator', cruise servo and intake vacuum, IS actually a 'valve' or just a 3 way connector? - I can blow and suck through EACH of the three ports, but to my mind this shouldn't BE if it's a valve!
It's possible to be a cluster problem-but most CC problems are either vacum, fuse, switch or some other related problem. Is your vette standard tranny or auto? The reason I ask is that a standard tranny has the CC clutch switch. And the answer to your question posted is-it is a valve, and you should not be able to blow thru all three at any time.BTW, hope you have the FSM, because there are alot of components to check-I'm sure you have checked all the fuses-right?

Thanks Rick; yes -- checked fuse first. My auto is the 700R but I was thinking last night; MAYBE my switch thats supposed to unlock the torque convertor is the WRONG one; as that would surely only apply to the electronic 'E' type tranny?
Thanks 'Redeasysport' & '87capevette', but here in Australia, we don’t HAVE AutoZone stores, nor do we have GM dealers...The closet to GM WE have is GMH (General Motors Holden) which 9 times out of 10 has NO part numbers that match the GM ones.
Still, I would THINK that our GMH OR auto stores such as our 'Repco', 'Autobarn' or 'Super cheap' SHOULD be able to visually match the valve; the main question I had was whether or not a good one DID or DIDN'T allow vacuum/pressure into all 3 'ports'.
I don't even remotely think that replacing the valve will miraculously bring my cruise to life, but at least it'd be ONE component that was correct and could be crossed off 'the list'
A mate of mine told me the VDO has a COMPLETE after-market cruise control setup, WITH LCD screen for about AU$350 - so if all else fails...That's certainly going to be a cheaper option!
One port is blocked if I remember right. When I replaced mine it held a vacuum when I pulled the hose off I could hear it.One way valve there.I did not notice any vacuum build up on the other.I think the one that goes straight was the one holding the vacuum. It is the one going to the vacuum reservoir I believe.Cheap enough to replace go for it and see what happens.Hope this helps.

I assume your cruise is working ok then?
IF you're foraging about in your engine bay at all; feel free to unplug that valve and tell me if they all blow and suck ok...
I know as I said one will not "suck"it will only do that from the intake side it builds vacuum from the intake and it will not bleed back when the car is turned off.Yes my cruise works fine.

Ah ok; mines definitely knackered then! I'll get one but I'm sure it won’t be THE reason the CC wont work (Tho it'd be SO delightful if it was!!)
Here's a pic of the valve incase anyone needs it in the future:
My buddy is heading down under in a week or so to operate a grape harvester. I'll pick one up, hide in his suitcase and then come over and install it. I guess i better find out what airport he's landing in because i hate long walks

If you suck on the single line air should not pass through. Sucking on either of the other two ( goes to intake and cruise control) while covering one with your finger, air will pass through. Sucking or blowing on either on the end with two while putting your finger over the bottom one ( Goes to vac reservour) will flow air.
I dont think this is the cause of your cruise not working though as the valve goes to the reservour and only comes into play during WOT or engine off.
Follow the line that goes to the cruise and see if there is a vacium leak anywhere else along it or at the diaphram for the cruise servo. If not you have an electrical fault in the cruise.

hahahaha...He (and you) need to go to BRISBANE International airport mate; no problem, my better half works for QANTAS, so I'm sure she'd give you a lift
most of the corvette parts suppliers, at least state side have the valve you need, i bought mine from a place here in the us for 4.99 dollars, dare i say the name EKL... don't know if i can promote it here though .
