Re: [Poll] How do you torque? (NoWorries)
Depending on how strong I feel that day I, 1. Tighten until I see juice coming out of the bolt, or 2. Tighten as tight as I can get it, then two more turns.

Always use the torque wrench. Drilling and easy outing broken bolts is not the way to spend the afternoon. :smash:

I use a One Inch air impact gun to snug my bolts in. When the gun stops turning, then it's tight enough for me.

Georgia Method - Tighten 'till it strips then back off 1/4 turn.

Anything that is being attached to the engine i.e: water pump, heads, exhaust and intake mainfolds gets torqued. Stuff thats just screws and bolts get put on until there elbow torqued.

Pre aluminum engine components I used to feel good about the elbow torque wrench, but, now a torque wrench and the correct specs are essential. I do miss the Georgia method however!

I use the torque wrench when the manual calls for a specific torque. I learned a long time ago, tight is tight, too tight is broke.

Torque wrench when it's called for in the manual, unless it's like 3 inch/pounds. :D Then I just give it a little twist and whack it. :smash:
