Am considering some long tubes and am concerned with heat issues. Can someone post some pics or email them to me. Specifically with spark plug boot issues. All input appreciated. 1985 L98
I used the stock metal clips. Then bought a new set of plastic wire holders from mad to put on the clips and routed the wires accordingly There are two on each side held by two bolts each. With the headers it was necessary to grind off one bolt hole on each clip to clear the flanges and just use one bolt on each with a lockwasher for each. Sorry, I didn't take pics of the clips before putting on the wires so you could see how I grinded them off.
All posted have been Hooker, TPiS may rub the plug boot on #5 and #7, kinda depends on what plug wires youre using.
you should also look at my website before proceeding
I'm not sure what 86Pacecar's are but I dont think they are hooker. You are right about mine but I think his may be coated headmans. The pipe looks smaller and the shape is more elongated and that #1 primary tucks behind the three and five. Whereas the one on the Hookers goes in front.
Ok now it's getting confusing in here. 86PACER's are Hookers but I dont think 86Pacecar's are.

Man it is so easy for you guys to reach your spark plugs, I have the same hookers on vortec heads and it is a pita to get to a few of them. I have to use an open end wrench to get to 2 of em. I also had to use shorter plugs and the kevlar sleeves so the wires wouldnt burn up!

Where did you get your shorty spark plugs. I've been looking for them but nobody here has them.
Same headers as everyone else the Hooker Super Comps with the air injection tubes. I include the pics because I didnt see any other with this type of plug wire loom. Forgot the brand name but got them from Summit so shouldn't be too hard to track down. Had to modify the bracket by the number 8 cylinder but other than that they work well and route the wires out of the way and very neatly. Boring gray TPIS wires so not very bling but works well.
I used some DEI Fire Hose (supposedly good to 2200*) on the oil cooler line, that seemed to be the only real suspect area (clearance is about 11/2" there) visible in pic between 5 and 7 cyl. The other thing I had to do was bend on the heat sheild on drivers side to clear the collector. Hooker 2149

You don't think those brake lines exiting down from the M/C adjacent
to #7 primary need a little shelter?
I forget which company offers it, perhaps ThermoTec, but one of them
has a wrap with a hook-and-loop (Velcro) seam that saves the day for
items you don't want to disconnect if you can avoid it (like the brake
lines). Just turn the seam to position this outboard of the heat source.
Nice work on that engine & compartment - it is great to have the
journey you've taken with this car turn out to be so scenic.
